Time Dilation Explained

Solaris (website) was on Cinemax tonite, which elicited a discussion about time travel.

(physics.about.com): The mathematics of relativity ensures that, when a clock is moving it runs slower than when it is at rest. And this is not some sort of weird effect that only clocks feel - experiments have shown that when muons (unstable particles) created in the upper atmosphere by cosmic rays receive so much energy that they move close to the speed of light.

Hey, any experiment in which clocks are “feeling” things is pretty weird already.
