What was the first Chinese (or Asian) restaurant you can remember going to? Growing up, my family rarely, if ever, ate Chinese food. In fact, I can’t ever remember my dad eating it. Mom liked this one place that had been around a while, though. But I think she only liked it because the service was really good.

Just got a note from an old friend who has recently been ordained a Catholic priest. He’s currently serving at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton’s in Omaha. Walter was always a tough and competitive Scrabble player. He couldn’t stand it when I’d try to bluff him out with words like roo (”a baby kangaroo”).
