Bode finishes as real zero
Bode (bō’dē) v.: 1. To fail unexpectedly amidst high expectations. 2. To defiantly dismiss expectations after spectacular failure. 3. To “rock,” in your own, special way.
nydailynews.com: ‘I just did it my way,’ Miller told an Associated Press reporter. ‘I’m not a martyr. I’m not a do-gooder. I just want to go out and rock. And man, I rocked here.
‘The expectations were other people’s. I’m comfortable with what I’ve accomplished, including at the Olympics.’
In some ways I admire Bode MIller for saying this. On the other hand, has he ever seen the movie Miracle? The Olympics is more than about individual achievement. That’s why you wear the flag, for cryin’ out loud.
