Career
Ameristar Casinos, Inc., (2008-Present)
Communications Manager. I manage and develop the overall communications strategy for Ameristar Casinos’ seven properties and corporate headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada. I also work with Community Relations to develop materials for workplace giving campaigns, as well as work with property PR managers to assist with local publications content. Many other projects “in the works.”
Tyson Foods, Inc., World Headquarters (2002-2008)
Multimedia Manager (current), Corporate Communications. Primary responsibilities include publication of company magazine (100,000 circ.), social media (in conjunction with PR dept.), Web site design and maintenance, photography services, and translation network. I work closely with internal clients and outside agencies to develop campaigns for both corporate and consumer audiences.
Newspaper/Publications (1995-2002)
Internet Publishing Manager, nwanews.com/wholehogsports.com. Wrote business plan, hired staff, and managed the online home of the Northwest Edition of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the Northwest Arkansas Times, and the Benton County Daily Record.
Assistant Managing Editor, Benton County Daily Record. Responsible for publication of daily paper 2-3 nights per week. Supervised newsroom, photography, layout staff.
Business Editor, Benton County Daily Record. Responsible for story assignment, editing, page layout. Responsible for annual Wal-Mart Shareholders’ Edition special section. Numerous AP press awards.
Education (1993-1995)
Full-time instructor of English, Ozarka College, Melbourne, Arkansas. Taught college-level and technical writing courses. Also conducted off-site corporate communications training.
